The Chamber of Commerce is holding a City Council District 1 forum this week, but one of the three candidates, Bryce Jepsen, was not invited. We’ll be sitting down with Jepsen to ask him the questions he would likely face if he had been included in the event. In education news, the Hart District Teachers Association has endorsed Gloria Mercado-Fortine for Trustee Area 1 and Eric Anderson for Trustee Area 4 in the 2024 Hart District Governing Board election. On the sports front, Golden Valley High’s football team remains undefeated at 2-0, while Valencia High has started the season 0-2 for the first time since 2015. The Dodgers won two of three games against the Orioles, but pitcher Clayton Kershaw is injured, and the Rams are preparing for their season opener without Ernest Jones, who was traded.
